What does the program fee cover?

  • Housing
  • Field trips
  • Program events
  • Ground transportation
  • Campus facilities usage
  • Health insurance

International airfare and tuition are not included in the program fee, neither are expenses for food and personal travel.


How do I pay program fees?

Program fees are payable through OSCAR.

Early Bird Program Fee (complete your application by December 15th): $4,195.

Applications completed after December 15th will pay: $4,495


Program Fee Payment Schedule 2019

A $500 deposit is due at the time of application and is applied to the overall program fee. The first program fee installment amount $1500 is due February 25th. The final program fee installment of $2495 is due March 25th.


*Georgia Tech reserves the right to alter the program cost due to currency devaluation or other unforeseen circumstances. 

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to withdraw from the program, you must notify OIE via email. Withdrawals requested after February 15, 2019 and on/before March 21, 2019 will be eligible to receive up to 60% refund of the program fees paid or due up to that date (not including non-refundable deposit). After March 21, 2019, there will be no refund and you will be responsible for 100% of the program fee associated with the GT China Summer Program (except for tuition, which is refundable as specified in the Summer OSCAR). 

Other Costs


The average cost of round trip economy class airfare is $1,500 - $1,700 and is in addition to tuition and program fee costs. 


All students pay in-state tuition (see Bursar for rates). The summer 2019 tuition fee is $333.60/hr. Out-of-state students must pay in-state tuition plus a $250 matriculation fee. All students are required to pay the GT technology fee and the USG institutional fee. Tuition is due to the Bursar’s Office, per their deadlines.  

Most financial aid and scholarships, including HOPE, Pell Grant, and Zell Miller, are applicable to GT study abroad programs.
